About the Role
As a Tech Career Trainer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of tech professionals. You will design and deliver engaging training programs, offer pastoral and academic support, and mentor students to help them achieve their career aspirations in the tech industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver interactive and innovative training sessions, workshops, and demonstrations.
- Mentor students on various tech roles, industry insights, and career pathways.
- Provide comprehensive support to ensure students achieve academic and personal success.
- Assess student work against established quality standards and offer constructive feedback.
- Stay updated on tech trends and share insights through blogs or articles.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance learning outcomes and institutional performance.
Key Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of the professional skills needed in the tech industry.
- Familiarity with the New Zealand tertiary or high school education systems.
- Experience in tech roles, preferably around IT helpdesk, software development, or project management, is advantageous.
- Passion for tech trends, agile methodologies, and design thinking.
- Excellent mentoring, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in information technology.
- Teaching experience in industry or academia is preferred.
