An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&A specialist to join a leading consulting firm as they expand their Deals Advisory presence across the New Zealand market.

A career with this client will provide you the opportunity to help organisations and businesses realise the potential of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital markets. In short, they support some of New Zealand’s companies originate, create, execute, and realise value from deals.

As a Senior Analyst, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support end-to-end M&A processes, from target identification to deal closure.
  • Support M&A project management processes including due diligence, financial planning, Information Memorandum drafting, scoping, closing, and integration.
  • Working in tandem with the Partners and Directors and supporting a team of M&A specialists to ensure the M&A functional area meets all objectives pertaining to quality, compliance, regulations, productivity, customer service, budget, and project management.
  • Foster relationships with key players in the industry, financial institutions, and potential partners.
  • Support post-merger integration initiatives to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Business development focus to develop new client relationships through relationship management with key business introducers and existing client base to maximise further opportunities.
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:  
  • 2-5 years of extensive experience in corporate development, M&A, finance, professional services, investment banking, or private equity.
  • Proven track record in successfully supporting M&A transactions on an end-to-end basis.
  • Strong analytical and advanced financial modelling skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to develop meaningful partnerships with both internal and external teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to support and motivate a team of associates.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior management.
