Our client is a leader in the New Zealand market, providing innovative and high-quality solutions in the building sector. They have a great team providing the day to day accounting leaving a lot of time for driving commercial outcomes.
About the Role
This is a pivotal position that focuses on commercial analysis and decision support within a dynamic business unit. The Management Accountant will play a critical role in driving performance, delivering insights, and contributing to strategic goals working closely with the Finance Business Partner. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional eager to influence outcomes through analytical expertise and collaboration.
There is a bit of core accounting with a 3 day month end and a few monthly reports but aside from that lots of focus on driving reporting improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to provide tailored commercial insights and decision support.
- Analyse operational and financial data to identify opportunities for profitability and efficiency improvements.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
- Develop financial models, including pricing, cost-to-serve, and benchmarking analysis, to inform business decisions.
- Prepare and present accurate management reports, including variance and performance analysis.
- Chartered Accountant qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management and analysis, preferably in manufacturing or similar industries.
- Proven expertise in operational costing and financial modelling.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence stakeholders effectively.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This role will be an initial 6 months, looking around $60 GST per hour as an independant contractor.
You must be available for a quick start at most two weeks notice.
